Below we take a closer look at five of them!  <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mental preparation for fasting is important<\/h2>\n<p>Before you start fasting, whichever type you prefer, it can be a good idea to pre-fast. This means preparing yourself both mentally and psychologically for a shorter or longer period of fasting and also adapting what you eat and drink. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By reprogramming your body, you can reduce the risk of suffering from various purging reactions and strong feelings of hunger. It involves avoiding food for a certain period of time, for example from 21:00 until 13:00 the next day. You eat as usual for 8 hours and fast for the remaining 16 hours. You can also take longer food breaks than this, up to 20 &#8211; 48 hours, and eat as usual in between.     <\/p>\n<p>Another type of intermittent fasting is alternate-day fasting, which means eating every other day. Among other things, it can help reduce abdominal fat, but also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and age-related frailty. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food fasting &#8211; Eat only one food<\/h2>\n<p>This type of fasting means that for a longer period, for example a week, you only eat one or a few foods to clear out waste products. Examples of such foods are bone broth, mung bean stew, and grass-fed meat or wild-caught fish. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Juicing &#8211; Food in liquid form<\/h2>\n<p>Juicing means restricting your calorie intake by consuming food only in liquid form. Fruit and vegetable juices are particularly common to drink (hence the name juicing) given their high vitamin and antioxidant content. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this type of fasting is to reduce inflammation in the body and flush out toxins. However, it can also be a good start for those who need to lose weight for health reasons. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dry fasting &#8211; No solid or liquid food<\/h2>\n<p>Dry fasting, as the name suggests, means that you do not consume solid or liquid food. There are also two different types of dry fasting &#8211; hard and soft. Hard dry fasting means that water is not allowed to touch your body during the fasting period. In contrast, soft dry fasting allows it.   &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During a dry fast, the body uses stored fat to produce energy and then starts to break down muscle. This is considered by many to be the &#8216;real&#8217; fasting because it activates important processes in the body, notably autophagy. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ekoappen.se\/blogg\/autofagi-rensar-och-foryngrar\/\">Autophagy is a natural cleansing process<\/a> that gives the body a thorough cleaning at the cellular level. In simple terms, autophagy helps the body to repair itself by replacing old cells with new ones. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to water, you can drink a cup of green or black tea or coffee, as long as it is organic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important to avoid excessive fasting<\/h2>\n<p>Fasting releases a large amount of endorphins, the body&#8217;s own happiness hormone, which can make you feel extra good.
