Getting out of bed easily, and immediately being able to move freely and quickly. To feel no stiffness or soreness in your joints or the rest of your body &#8211; wouldn&#8217;t that be wonderful? But is it possible&#8230;?<\/em><\/strong> <em><strong>Yes &#8211; but much of what we&#8217;ve been taught about diet, eating and health over the last 40 years has been proven wrong &#8211; so we have to relearn. <\/strong><\/em> <\/p>\n<p>Yes, it is entirely possible. I have experienced it myself, and I have seen it happen to others many times. Many people have shared their personal experiences with me, and I have included many of these stories in the book. It works because everyone&#8217;s body is built on the principle of self-healing and functioning at maximum level! Environmental influences, such as nutrition, stress, thoughts and emotions, can regulate which genes are used (to produce proteins). This happens without changing the genes themselves.  <\/p>\n<p>As early as the 1960s, Russian scientists knew that starvation (fasting) sometimes prolongs life. However, fasting does not actually mean starvation, i.e. that you are constantly hungry. On the contrary, your body efficiently reorganizes itself so that you are not hungry, but use other fuels while repairing and fine-tuning your body. Taste and smell are also improved. Food breaks increase our vitality.    <\/p>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Much of what we have been taught about diet, eating and health over the past 40 years has been proven wrong. Therefore, our view needs to be updated: &nbsp;<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eating too much and too often makes us age faster and gain weight. It is very harmful to physical and mental health and longevity. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Autophagy (the body&#8217;s self-cleaning) is essential for maintaining good health and vigor. But eating carbohydrates and proteins, and the release of insulin, turns off autophagy, and very little is required. <\/li>\n<li>Fasting done properly does not break down the body but is excellent for building muscle. When researchers compared calorie restriction of the diet with fasting, fasting was four times more effective in preserving muscle mass! <\/li>\n<li>Fasting has a rejuvenating effect via the release of growth hormone, among other things. Photo: Leo Rivas\/Unsplash.  <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rejuvenation within reach<\/h3>\n<p>Everyone wants to get rid of pain, stiffness and soreness in joints and muscles, and did you know that this is the same as rejuvenation? Other signs include reduced body swelling, smoother skin, clearer thoughts, more alert and lighter mind. This rejuvenation is possible at any time, and for anyone. This is the great positive message of my Lent book!   <\/p>\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fasting is number one for rejuvenation<\/strong>, decades of research show!  <\/h5>\n<p>What matters is what you feed your body &#8211; or not. Because the food break is both a <em>gut break<\/em> and an activation of specific genes for rejuvenation. It should be combined with some physical exercise, because we are made to move. Research shows that people who exercise at least three hours a week are biologically at least ten years younger than those who do not. Add to that properly executed, regular fasting and you can shave off at least 20 years!    &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Regular exercise is scientifically proven to promote good health, but you can only prolong and rejuvenate life when exercise is combined with fasting. This lifestyle lays the foundation for <em>longevity<\/em> or <em>youngevity<\/em> &#8211; which means living long, healthy and vibrant. The world&#8217;s leading expert on longevity, Professor Luigi Fontana, draws on 20 years of research on both humans and animals to say that<em> with the right healthy lifestyle, we can live to be 100 years old with the health and <\/em><em>stamina (endurance and strength) of <\/em><em>a 40-year-old<\/em>! It is very encouraging. I will be 60 in 2021 but my body is much younger, so now I celebrate 44 years every year instead!   <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Anything is possible, rejuvenation and self-healing are closer than you think &#8211; and you decide through your choices. Because only you decide what you eat &#8211; or don&#8217;t eat! &nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Fasting is also cheap, simple and easily accessible to everyone.<\/strong>  You can do it anywhere, anytime, at low cost. Water fasting with my new VASS protocol only needs water, sea salt, fatty coffee, vitamin C and lemon &#8211; very simple! &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The body is millions of years old and it is designed to function optimally. But we need to take care of it properly, the way it was built during evolution. And fasting has always been a natural part of human history, whether voluntary or involuntary (lack of food).
