So nice to meet many of you and really happy that my book Happy Skin is so popular and that the courses we have are so in demand!

Are you interested in knowing more about the trainings for Health and Lifestyle Therapist or Advanced Skin Therapist, I highly recommend booking a discovery call with one of my team.

Today I’m talking about how to increase your chances of getting your hair back.

How to get your hair back!

Unfortunately, many people have noticed after having Covid that they have lost more hair. This may be because circulation has been impaired along with a weakened immune system.

Stress in its various forms can cause more hair loss and it is important to find tools to relax and calm down. When we are stressed, the secretion of stress hormones from the adrenal glands increases, which in turn can put the sex hormones out of balance.

Something that can cause hair loss is the hormone DHT, which is derived from testosterone. It can cause inflammatory damage to the circulatory system, reducing nutrients to the hair follicles. Hair follicles get their nutrients from the blood and if the supply is cut off, hair can fall out.

There can be many reasons why people lose their hair. In many cases, it is a matter of changing habits, such as taking it easy, eating more nutritiously and exercising more.

1. relaxation
Practice meditation and relaxation daily. Find tools to reduce any stress. Breathe deeply and have time to yourself where you can recharge your batteries.

2. exercise and movement
Exercise is important and to move at least 30 minutes every day. It increases circulation and nourishes both your skin and hair. Find some movement you enjoy.

3. eat enough proteins
Proteins build and strengthen and promote new blood vessel growth. You can find good complete proteins in quinoa, hemp, buckwheat and chia.

4. massage your scalp
Massage your scalp when washing your hair and finish with cold water over your head and neck, which will increase circulation. Avoid brushing your hair after washing it and let it air dry. Comb your hair out lightly with your fingers if you have to, or comb your hair forward towards your face to avoid more traction on the hair follicles. You can also massage your scalp with rosemary essential oil, which also increases circulation, but mix it with a carrier oil before applying it (e.g. almond oil). Get a hog brush, it increases circulation and nourishment to the hair follicles and massage your scalp with it once a day.

5. organic nourishing hair products
Use only organic and natural hair products and do not use products that clog the scalp. Good products include Brun Products, Dr. Sannas and Rosenserien.

6. Add extra nutrition
Nutrition that is extra good to add in case of hair loss is omega 3, vitamin A and C, biotin, silicon, MSM, magnesium, iron, zinc and also the homeopathic medicine Arnica montana D30, which can increase circulation to the hair follicles. Remove foods that cause more inflammation, like all the white stuff (sugar, flour, milk and hard fried foods). And increase vegetables and good fats like avocado, coconut oil, hemp oil and olive oil.

To know exactly what nutrients you need, I highly recommend seeking out a Health and Lifestyle Therapist or an Advanced Skin Therapist that I have trained.
