This has many benefits for the environment, of course, but also for you, your skin, your hair and even your wallet. Here are five good reasons to stock your bathroom cabinet with natural and green products!

1. pure content 

Natural skin and hair care products contain only ingredients that occur naturally in nature or in the body, such as hyaluronic acid, vegetable oils and extracts from plants, fruits and flowers. In short, you know exactly what’s in the products and where it comes from.  

In addition, many natural products for skin and hair (though not all) are fully organic. This means that they contain ingredients produced without chemical sprays that can be harmful to you, the environment and factory workers.

A major drawback of many skin and hair care products is that they contain chemical and petroleum-based substances. Such substances can be harmful to the skin, causing irritation and, in the worst case, an allergic reaction.

However, natural products are completely free of artificial substances that can be harmful to our health. This makes them much gentler, especially for those with sensitive or dry skin. Natural oils can even have an anti-inflammatory effect, relieving both eczema and itching.

To minimize the environmental impact, you should choose natural products that are also organic. This way, you can be sure that they have not released dangerous chemicals during production. You also don’t have to worry about the products being flushed down the drain.

Another great benefit of natural skincare and haircare is the price. These products don’t actually have to cost the earth, quite the opposite. In fact, they are often much cheaper than skin and hair care products from well-known brands. And they can also have many more uses.  

A good example is coconut oil, which can be used for the body and face as well as for hair and even teeth. Coconut oil can also be used as a massage oil, as a base for body scrubs or as a frying fat when cooking. One jar lasts a long time and costs well under a hundred bucks.  

5. easy to find vegan and cruelty-free

Natural skin and hair care products are a good option, even for vegans. Many of the ingredients are completely vegan, although there are of course a few exceptions. Honey, for example, is a common non-vegan ingredient in natural skin and hair care.  

Another advantage is that a large proportion of natural skin and hair care companies boycott animal testing. So you can use the products with a clear conscience without contributing to the harm of innocent animals along the way.

Important when choosing natural products

As you can see, there is every reason to start using natural skin and hair care if you have not already done so. However, when choosing products, you should consider the following: 

• Choose organic – it’s better for you and the environment.
• Read the table of contents – It should be easy to understand what the product contains.
• Vegan labeling – If you’re vegan, it’s best to look for a vegan label, as not all natural ingredients are vegan.
• Preferably choose locally produced – Support Swedish companies and avoid unnecessary climate impact by choosing Swedish natural skincare if you can.
